Welcome to the Parents Page which we hope will contain all the information you need to know about the academy. If you would like us to include any other/further information, please do not hesitate to contact us and let us know firstname.lastname@example.org
We believe in the ‘Golden Triangle’ that a schools success is attributed to three major components –its teachers, its parents/carers and its students. We believe that each individual component requires our attention, has its own unique needs, has its own ideas and should be listened to.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parents to contribute to the discussions, progress and development of their student and the responsibility of the school to provide the opportunities, information and communication to allow this to happen.
Parents/Carers have the unique ability to influence their child’s success or failure. They play the lead role in providing the emotional support that children require to be successful. However, we are aware that at times and with the best intentions we all need to support each other in doing this.
At Ramsden Hall Academy we promote an open and honest communication policy allowing parents and carers contact with staff via meetings, email and phone at any time throughout the year.
Each student will be allocated a house and a form tutor which will be the first port of call for any concerns or issues (please see student area) as well as a number of transfer adults they will establish and identify for themselves.
Each house has a member of the senior leadership team assigned to it and further support can be obtained here if required.
Form tutors will maintain regular contact with parents/carers updating them on their students’ progress academically and socially at least fortnightly.
Residential students will have further staff members identified to support and inform parents of their progress within residential in particular their social and independent development.
Parents/Carers are invited to attend two student advocacy days a year providing the opportunity for parents/carers to meet subject teachers, review work and celebrate success.
Some parents/carers may want to take this a step further and support us in our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) meeting every half term to discuss improvements and to raise funds.
We look forward to meeting you at Ramsden Hall Academy.
